Mushroom Bolognese

Ingredients

~1 1lb. ground beef

~28 oz. can whole tomatoes (my fav is Mutti)

~1 Tbsp. tomato paste

~3/4 cup dry red wine

~8 oz. mushrooms, finely chopped

~2 carrots, chopped

~2 celery, chopped

~1 medium onion, chopped

~2 cloves garlic, minced

~1 lb. of your favorite pasta!

~Olive oil

~Pecorino Romano


  1. In a dutch oven over medium heat, drizzle olive & add onion, carrots, & celery. Saute 3-5 minutes.

  2. Add in garlic, saute 3 minutes. Add in tomato paste, stir in, and saute an additional 2-3 minutes.

  3. Add in ground beef, break apart into tiny pieces. Cook until browned.

  4. Add in mushrooms and saute for 3 minutes.

  5. Deglaze the pan with red wine. Then add in tomatoes, breaking apart the whole tomatoes.

  6. Cover the pot and turn down to medium low heat. Let simmer for 30 minutes.

  7. Serve over your favorite pasta, & top with pecorino romano! Mangia!
